Hello, World! My name is Julie C. Ortiz, and I am a graphic designer, painter, visual artist, and jeweler. I proudly hail from the vibrant Bronx and received my education at Lehman College, where I studied theater and dance to enhance my artistic journey.

In 2012, I had the privilege of hosting my debut solo silent auction art gallery, titled "Spiritual Journey," at the covo trattoria on West 135th Street in New York City. This gallery showcased my mixed media photoshopped artwork, which vividly depicted my personal evolution toward a more enlightened life.

In January 2015, I discovered my passion for painting and have since participated in various galleries. Notable exhibitions include the Popup Gallery NYC series in April, May, and June of 2015, as well as the renowned Pancakes and Booze events in 2015 and 2016, held in the heart of New York City. Additionally, I had the honor of showcasing my work in the "Love it or Hate it" gallery series at "The Skinny" in October 2016. In 2016, I also had the opportunity to curate my own solo art show called "A Glimpse into My World" at the Stanton Street Yoga Studio in the vibrant Lower East Side of New York City. It was an amazing experience that allowed me to showcase my artistic abilities.

In the summer of 2017, I started working closely with the Founder and Executive Director of the Bronx World Film, Inc., Walter Krochmal, during the launch of the Summer Cycle in parks and public spaces throughout the Bronx. Since then, I have passionately collaborated with the organization in various creative, programming, marketing, and administrative capacities. As part of my involvement, I oversee the design and printing of all promotional materials, ensuring a captivating and visually appealing representation of the organization's vision and initiatives.

My artwork serves as a window into the universe as seen through the lens of my ever-evolving spirit. With each vision, I unlock a mesmerizing, illusionary, and enigmatic world that is mysteriously beautiful, far beyond the boundaries of what meets the naked eye.

What is the origin of my name?

Curious People: "How did you come up with the name julzdafoolz?"

me: "It all started back in 2005, when I first started dabbling in photo editing with Photoshop. As fate would have it, my birthday just happens to fall on the day after April Fool's Day, and so I decided to play up the jokester theme and incorporate it into my artistic name. But as I continued to grow and mature, I realized that there was a deeper meaning.

You see, I started to draw parallels between my name and the Tarot's major arcana card, The Fool. Represented by the number 0, The Fool is the embodiment of new beginnings and unlimited potential. Always present at the start of a journey, The Fool fearlessly takes chances and places his trust in the universe. And that's exactly the kind of person I am! I'm not afraid to take risks and leap headfirst into the unknown, confident that the universe has got my back.

while some may see the name julzdafoolz as a whimsical joke, it's really so much more than that. It's a manifestation of my adventurous spirit and my unwavering trust in the universe. I keep my sights set on the horizon, excited to see where my journey will take me next. Aren't we all fools after all, so why not embrace your inner fool and join me on this wild and wonderful adventure of life? Let's all stay true to ourselves and follow our dreams, no matter where they may lead!

Much love and light to you all!

~Love jdf aka julzdafoolz~
